Dr. Rao receives 'Teacher of the Year" from Beaumont ophthalmology residents

Dr. Rajesh Rao, pediatric ophthalmologist at Children’s Eye Care in metro Detroit and Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Beaumont Eye Institute, was named Teacher of the Year by the Beaumont Eye Institute’s ophthalmology residents.

Dr. Rao has been is also an attending at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and has been recognized and named in Best Doctors in the Midwest and Top Docs in Hour Detroit.

His clinical and research interests encompass pediatric and adult strabismus.  He participates in National Institute of Health, National Eye Institute sponsored clinical trials.

We are proud to announce that our orthoptic student has successful completed our two year orthoptic training program. Stephen Burwell, BS, COT has completed the intensive program as well as passed his written and oral boards with the American Orthoptic Council to become a board-certified orthoptist.
