Nondiscrimination Notice and Language Assistance Services Children’s Eye Care’s Nondiscrimination Notice

Children’s Eye care (CEC) complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.  CEC does not exclude people or treat them differently because of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.

Children’s Eye Care provides free auxiliary aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as:

  • qualified sign language interpreters via video remote interpreting for hearing impaired individuals
  • written information in multiple formats including large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, or other formats for visually impaired individuals

Children’s Eye Care provides free language services to people whose primary language is not English, such as:

  • qualified interpreters via video remote interpreting and/or information written in other language

We have partnered with CyraCom, the leading provider of language interpreter services to healthcare. Its interpretation and translation solutions are exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association.  They support hundreds of languages and operates 24/7.

Each of our clinics are equipped with the capability of immediate/on-demand video remote interpreting for individuals that are hearing impaired or have limited English proficiency.  Therefore, you don’t need to proactively communicate before your appointment with us that you need assistance. However, if you’d like to discuss the services, feel free to contact CEC’s ADA Coordinator at 248-254-8140.

If you believe that CEC has failed to provide these services or discriminated in another way on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability or sex, you can file a grievance with:
